![]() ![]() “The Windows 10 Anniversary Update and the related Xbox update coming this summer will enable the Windows Store on Windows 10 and Xbox One to support Xbox Play Anywhere games,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Polygon. The Xbox Play Anywhere initiative is available now, with games such as ReCore, Forze Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4 among the first to take advantage. It allows players who purchase a digital game on one platform to receive the game for free on the other. That means you can't have a friend play on your Xbox One while you're playing on a gaming laptop.Xbox Play Anywhere was announced during Microsoft’s E3 2016 press conference as a new gaming service for Xbox One and Windows 10. Note, however, that you can use only one platform at a time. As long as you're signed in with the same Microsoft account on both the Xbox One and your PC, you can transfer seamlessly. Your game saves, DLC and other data are all saved on Xbox Live, so you should be good to go. You'll still need to download the game on both devices. Otherwise, go to Settings > All Settings, and then System > Console info & updates > Update console. If you have your console set to update automatically, you're probably in good shape. In addition, you need the latest update to your Xbox One. You'll need to make sure to upgrade your gaming PC to the Windows Anniversary Update.
